Little Squirrels Open Day

Hello everyone! You probably know us by now, but we are Nicola and Ebonie, part of Castle Mall’s Real People!

We were asked to write about our experience at the Little Squirrels open day, Ebonie was super excited because we had been there a few times before and she loved it!

When we arrived we were greeted with a smile and could already see some of the changes in place since our last visit, Ebonie was eager to try out the sensory tent and really enjoyed her time in there. There were biscuits to make and lots of messy fun to be had, perfect for a toddler!

We then spotted the outside area! This was AMAZING! It’s unlike ‘normal nursery’ outside areas, its full of imagination play rather than just slides see-sawssaws! It was absolutely incredible, there is a tipi with cushions, books and general chill out bits, a mud kitchen (which Ebonie absolutely adored)!A sand pit, magnifying glasses to look for bugs, so many things to explore!

Indoors, there is also a section for the younger children, but regardless of this Ebonie (3) still had fun. Although the toys were age appropriate, they somehow made them appealing for children of an older age too. Ebonie even found a spot for a quick lay down!

Going back to the actual open day, all activities were free, including face painting which was a big hit and all the staff were amazingly friendly.  Every child I saw was smiling and very much enjoying the activities.

I would certainly not think twice about letting my child be a part of Little Squirrels, the whole day both me and Ebonie felt welcome, looked after and safe.

Well done and thank you Little Squirrels on creating a fun, enjoyable space! We thoroughly enjoyed our time!
