Charities of the Year

We are really pleased to announce that our charities of the year for 2019 are:

● Get Me Out The Four Walls
● Finnbars Force

We will be working closely with both charities to help them raise funds and to provide our shoppers with some exciting activities throughout the year. Watch this space!

A bit about our chosen charities:

Get Me Out The Four Walls was created to ensure that no mother, father or carer feels alone and isolated at home after the birth of their children. By creating informal social meets they aim to give as many people in Norfolk the opportunity to escape their house and meet others which they believe helps prevent the on-set of Maternal Mental Illness such as Postnatal Depression and to help aid stabilisation of mental health and social prescription.

They also strive to support as many mothers that become known to us that are struggling with a mental illness by offering 1 to 1 peer support and postnatal depression specific social meets delivered by our friendly non-judgemental ambassadors.

Finnbar’s Force was set up at the start of 2017 following the loss of the founders son

Finnbar’s Force was set up in February 2017 by Tristan and Claire Cork, after the loss of their son Finnbar, to an aggressive brain tumour in August 2016. They want to provide support and reduce suffering for children who receive the devastating diagnosis of a brain tumour, and their families. Their three main aims are:

1) To support children suffering from brain tumours (especially rare/unusual presentations) and their families.

2) To support and fund research into childhood brain cancer and potential treatments through grants to research teams and support of umbrella organisations, such as Brain Tumour Research.

3) To raise awareness of the disease and it’s debilitating effects and to campaign for improvements in the current standard of care and support available, as well as for more research.
