A brand-new virtual reality experience has opened here at Castle Quarter! Vector VR is situated on level two, next to Poundland, and is open for gamers and adventurers.
With games and experiences for children aged ten and over plus adults too, visitors to Vector VR can choose to book one of a range of taster experiences or book time in a virtual reality pod and try out any number of games from Vector’s extensive offering. With some games designed for single players and others that can be enjoyed by a group of up to four players, you can strike out alone or bring some allies along for the adventure. Every player is allocated their own pod and VR headset.
The three Vector VR taster experiences allow a visitor to explore new worlds and take part in incredible adventures, without ever leaving the room. Choose from:
– The Plank Experience (for ages 15 and over) challenges players to overcome their deepest instincts when up on a skyscraper: can you step off and plunge to the ground, or will you retreat to the safety of the elevator?
– The Blu (suitable for ages 10 and over) allows people to experience the beauty of the underwater world, exploring ocean habitats and coming face to face with a range of awesome sea creatures.
– GORN (for ages 15 and over) is a virtual combat experience which enables visitors to harness their inner gladiator and strike down a plethora of fantasy foes in a virtual arena of heroes.
“After almost two years of restricted travel and socialising, now, more than ever, we believe people are ready to experience new things and broaden their horizons: using the latest in virtual reality technology we can make that possible in a safe and accessible way,” says CEO of Vector VR Jacob Tweedie. “Vector VR in Norwich is our pilot centre and we’ll be developing the brand, games and experiences on offer in response to customer feedback. Castle Quarter is the perfect place for our first opening because it is fast becoming the go-to leisure destination in Norfolk, with a fantastic mix of entertainment for people of all ages.”
“We’ll be open from midday until late, seven days per week and players will be able to purchase soft-drinks and snacks to fuel up or cool off during their visits.”
Rob Bradley is centre manager at Castle Quarter. “We can’t wait for Vector VR to open its doors next month because it will add yet another string to our bow in terms of leisure and entertainment,” Rob says. “We are always keen to welcome new tenants with fresh ideas who have an appetite for bringing something different and exciting to the centre, whilst delivering an excellent customer experience.”
