We are proud to once again be sponsoring the Break city-wide trail! This year there is a stampede heading to Norwich as we welcome the GoGoSafari!

Step into a wild adventure this summer with GoGoSafari!
Explore a colourful display of sculptures featuring not one, but FIVE, magnificent animals straight from the African Savannah!
For ten weeks Norwich and Norfolk will be taken over by gorillas, rhinos, giraffes, lions and elephants! With around fifty sculptures on display decorated by talented artists, there will something new to discover round every corner. And trotting alongside these wonderful beasts are over 60 Mini Gs! These adorable little giraffes will make their very own urban safari across the city all featuring the creativity of local schools and community groups.
Brought to life by local charity Break which supports young people from care, each of these wonderful animals represent the strength, hope and resilience of those young people. The trail raises vital funds so Break can continue to give them the love, support and opportunities they all deserve.
Are you ready to GoGo on a safari? We are!

Stay tuned for more details!

Meet the artists
To give you a behind-the-scenes look at our rhino, we caught up with the talented artists Rachael and Phillippa. They’ve been hard at work bringing our stunning sculpture to life, and we can’t wait for you to see their incredible creation!
Tell us a bit about both of you:
We are both illustrators and identical twin sisters, after graduating from the University of Derby in Illustration, we decided to form a collective. Together we create illustrations for children’s books, educational material, greetings cards and board books. We work with clients across the UK, US and Europe. This year we have also been working on writing and illustrating our own picture book.
How did you get involved with the GoGoSafari sculpture trail?
So far we have painted around 45 sculptures for public art trials across the UK, including Wild in Art trails. A few years ago we had the pleasure of working with Break on a mammoth sculpture for the GoGo Discover trail. This year we are working on a rhino and elephant and are so pleased to be supporting Break again. When Castle Quarter chose our rhino design we were over the moon, we had never painted a rhino sculpture before so it was a real treat.

What inspired the Rhino, and what do you love about it?
The rhino is such a great shape to paint on and we were delighted to be chosen by Castle Quarter to bring this design to life. Our inspiration for the design came from the city of Norwich and how there is something to discover around every corner. It’s about exploration, getting out and about and exploring favourite places or hidden gems- so there is a lot of things to spot in our design.
We love that it speaks to both adults and children, with lots of details and things to look at it really draws you in, as well as having a fun explorer safari theme.
When creating the rhino design we loved painting in elements that evoked a sense travel, the rhino being our explorer- what would he collect on his travels? Photos of a fun city trip, souvenirs, postcards.
Are you excited to see him located at the Castle Quarter?
Rhino will be right at home at Castle Quarter. We are very excited that rhino will be at Castle Quarter, and being in such a prominent location ,where people can enjoy the art, as well as learning more about Break and all the work they do. We are sure he will be enjoying all of the attention!
Keep your eyes peeled for more details and the launch of the trail coming soon!
